On New Years Eve, members of the Hamilton boys' basketball team participated in the Hamilton Lake annual Polar Plunge. Andrew Merritt (Sr) said," It was definitely colder than last year, and there was no way I was swimming out to the fireman!" Aside from the shear risk-taking thrill of possibly freezing to death, the boys are learning to enjoy civic life and local culture. Last year, the boys were able to get a majority of the team out for the plunge, but due to illness over break most members were unable to participate this year. The basketball team always has fun doing this tradition and hopes to face the cold again next year.
